Pour me another one

I was having trouble with up loads tonight...just about to quit and lo and behold it uploaded!

So house....
No the hydro has not been hooked up... But the weather is nice enough... So the taping begins.
Yes it looks like it's done, but apparently those boxes and that tape will all be used... There is more to come.

The bathroom..
For some reason my bedroom door opening was wider than it should be. Luckily I brought it to the attention of my contractor in the nick of time. We added a 2x4 or two and it will be all fixed - covered in drywall tomorrow.

Outside things are getting ready for the last pour of concrete. Lots of measuring and levelling, rebar and wire....
Drain in place....
So it looks like we are all set....
Stairs down to a landing supported by the farther pad, then stairs end on the closer pad.
While all that was going on I raked up the lower front yard.... Free of rocks now!
You can see some flowers and transplanted oregano, just in front of my Japanese boxwood or whatever it's called.
Then back to the cherry tree and the ants.... I had wrapped the tree three times with the sticky stuff and yet the top of the tree was covered in ants still. How did they get there? The painter pointed out that the smart little buggers were crawling along the neighbours clothes line to a branch. Below you can see I cut the offending branches off. A neighbour suggested that the ants were farming aphids. So I looked at the tree and sure enough the ends of the branches had a multitude of little black critters. There are ways to get rid of them... Dish soap etc... I cut off the end leaves. Then I took down the three wraps and put up a fresh one. Hopefully that's enough of attention until cherries are ripe.
This is pretty.....
So the outside water is up and working now. The two lines inside are plugged for now.
This sure makes watering easier than hooking up to the washing machine line inside the house as I had done all weekend!
Speaking of weekend... Long weekend in Canada.
I build a small planter. Pumpkin in one end, zucchini at the other end, ornamental corn in the middle.
As I mentioned I moved some oregano to the front yard... Fear not lots left.
Lettuce, cilantro, radishes, fennel, chives, thyme, rosemary, garlic.....

In the greenhouse... Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants, chard, collards, some flowers

Then there was time to visit the neighbour ... To see the house from the other side of the hydro pole!
Oh and Hydro has been by to see how things are going.  My contractor tells me the fella lives on the next street over. And apparently he wants that bottom branch taken off, ( you can see in the photo above). The branch that I thought might have to come down, which you cannot see, which was closer to the house.... The dump truck took down when the driveway rock was delivered.
