Male rodents?

I figured that I would stop in at the building site for a bit and then run some errands and come back later in the afternoon. 

I see the gutter downspouts have arrived.

Now it appears that they fixed the south side. I think it still looks a bit odd, but railings will have room and there will be no digging new holes, finding drainage pipes and making new ones at the right grade.... I suspect I will put in a rain catcher barrel on that corner at some point as well.

I was not planning on going inside while drywallers were in action but it did not look too dusty. There was a three man crew on the drywall and the usual crew (two guys) helping with the insulation.

Here you can see the living room wall coming together.

The contractor was by for a bit of catch up conversation. He let me know the painter said she would seal the new deck ceiling for a cheaper rate if I helped out... So that's in the plan at some point. Rock wall will go up maybe next week. Hopefully a concrete pour will happen next week as well.

I watched for awhile and then went to play in the yard, and then everyone left early for the long weekend. I can't blame them...

So back inside for more pictures.

The den is no longer super storage room and is finished.

Bathroom still needs the Kerdi boards... But that will be my contractor's handiwork.

You can see the living room is done.

And the kitchen is done as well.... Complete with secret access from the bedroom closet. The corner will be too tight for kitchen access, oh well.

Back outside you can see three frames in a pile. These will be concrete forms for the support pillars for the back deck.

And now out front there are two boxes..... One for the pad below the stair turning landing and one for at the bottom of the stairs landing.... Not in correct positions.

I raked up the front yard a bit.

I will have to figure out what to plant there.... Nothing with big roots that will grow into drainage pipes.

The real yard work I did today was in the back. My contractor had finally spliced on the end of the water line to outside the greenhouse and put a new tap in place.  We turned it on and all was well outside...... Except inside not so much. The plumber neglected to seal the other two ends of the outside water lines....that are not yet outside. So a bit of a mess inside. Oops... Guess those lines were not tested... Until now.

I buried the waterline and put the grass back in place, but it was awhile ago so the grass is not happy for now. At least I have my yard back now.

And then I mowed more of the lawn and 'whipper snappered' (okay trimmed) much of the grass. 

I don't think the deer had a late dinner or early breakfast on my hostas which is good... And the ant party is still around the base of the tree. There are still many ants on the tree, but I think the sticky wrap is working. I will change it out in the next few days and maybe putting something on the ground to make the ants go away.... You know like borax!

As you may have guessed I never got to run any errands. I basically spent the whole day at site, including lots of staring and imagining what needs to get done in the yard, what pictures will fit where, and why my closet is the size it is and what kind of door will work.. should the shelves be on the right or the left.

So much for my plans...plans....Ah the best plans of rodents and males or something or other....
