Dirt over cobblestones any day

Wow what a nice place to stay, such wonderful hospitality !!!
In his defense he was looking into the ... Sun....yes that is correct, no rain today!!

Okay okay I post a picture of me...
And Alex, Dirk and Josef.
Again with Fernanda and Jose.
Everyone wished us goodbye...
At about 1030 hrs!
No, not all cats in Portugal are black...
The courtyard....
The house.... You know so when you walk by you know where to stop!!
Dirk was a much faster walker, and going farther than I tonight.  So away he left.
And I swear Josrf said he was going to Fatima ... But now to Santiago!
He told us last night he has been walking for 12 years. He lives in the south of Portugal, but it sounds like he is not home much!
I tried walking with him and talking the little English he knew... But he walked too fast and besides I had use the washroom.

An asphalt path for awhile.
More grapes... But look at that sky.  I am excited aren't you?!
Look out here come the Sunday morning riders....
Colours...
For awhile the trail was soft.
At 1130 hrs I saw this sign.  In the arrow (which you can't read) it said ... 2 hours and 33 mins (I think, I forget).
Then a really nice part through the woods.  It was easier to relax my mind in the woods.... More time to think.
It really was in the middle of no where.

Sheepies....

Back to roads.... Covered in brown sea urchins.  Okay chestnut husks!
The eucalyptus steam room will never be the same for me.  For walking in the forest smells so nice here ...
Different roads...
And by houses again.
Look apples...

Okay so this picture did not come out well ... Often there is the sound of birds, of barking dogs, and sometimes sheep.  This is a picture of a little lamb who was in a different pen than everyone else and it kept crying out and then answered by another ... Maybe mom.

These guys get to go to another field.

This is a planted forest of chestnut trees
This is better than cobblestones, but not as nice as asphalt.. Or best dirt!

I was hoping my trail went that way so I could figure out what this was....
Getting closer to town...
I have seen a few solar set ups ... This one for the farm.
Almost there....

Through the course of the day I have run into Josef three more times.  First time he stop for coffee, so I do as well.  Then I tell him to go ahead.  Next time I catch up because he stop again, but I say I don't stop.  Then third time he catch up to me and we walk into Pont de Lima together.

There is new Pont for the cars and the old Pont for the people.

My right shin hurts quite a bit and again I tell Josef Bom Caminho and he is off ...
Look a huge Sunday flea market.

Maybe I should get better transportation?

With my sore leg I hobble into the old town and find a bench, rest, change the socks, and people watch for awhile.

Apparently the market is the place to be.
I had a snack, pizza and a tart.
I love the Portuguese tarts... It's butter, eggs and sugar in pastry I am sure.. But so good.  My legs may be gaining muscle, but my waistline is not shrinking!

Across the bridge- I mean Pont de Lima.

My destination behind the church at the albergue.  I check in, pay my 5 Eur.
They let me use some anti inflammatory cream for my shin.  Shower, change, and check in with the wifi signal.

The view from the computer lounge area.

A French couple arrive. .. They have been traveling for a month, from Genada, Spain.

I head out to a snack bar around the corner for my pilgrim dinner. Steak and rice, I forgo the chips and have a coke so the wine will not put me to sleep to early.

It is only 2100 hrs, but time to get ready for bed. The front door is closed now.. So we three are the only ones staying here tonight.  We must be out by 0900 hrs tomorrow.

There is a mountain to climb tomorrow and I need my rest.

Lugar de Corga - Pont de Lima  15 km
Day five complete.
