By 0800 hrs there is an announcement and suddenly everyone gets up to queue. But it's really the third and final call for Madrid. Everyone stays in the line, me included. I am flying Ryanair and it is general seating. Finally we do board, on time and I get a good seat. Then four very loud talkative women sit down in front of me, across the aisle from me, and in from and behind the one across for me. They chatter for the whole flight.... But what about? Office politics, guys? I will never know.
We land on time in Barcelona, and I locate the transport counter when I am advised my driver will be here in 20 minutes... Sit down and have a coffee.
The driver arrives for me, then picks up 9 others at the other terminal and I will be the third drop off.
By1300 hrs I am at my hostel. I have booked at Feet Up Garden Hostel which is far way from everything in a residential area. I will have a bunk in a room of 6 females. This is my street.
I lock up my bag and my host Philippe provides me with a map and directions of places where I should visit.
The H is my hostel, the L3 and L5 are my closest subway lines. The pink area is where I can get a good cheap meal. I head out for a walk...
I go to the restaurant where Phillipe advises and the guy says no go here next door. I try and order a typical Spanish meal ... Without fish of course. Here is what I get...
There are quite a lot of different lines...
A couple of free kicks...
It was cool!
But really it was cold. I forgot to bring my toque from the hotel.
Ear plugs in, good night.
