I miss the sheep

This was not a good day.  I miss Portugal.  I only saw sheep once today.

While the hospitality at the restaurant was fine... The room and the bathroom not so much.  I won't get into it... But I should have stayed in the albergue.  Not my first mistake in life. .... Not my last!

Last night I tried to get some more money from the money machine, but my CIBC cards were not cooperating. It could have been my inability to recount my password....

This morning I went back to the machine and used my NSCU... Or should I say Blue Shore Finacial credit union card.
Success.  I should be good until Santiago.

Back to the hotel/restaurant now open to return the keys, pay, get my stamp and my breakfast.  Cafe Americano - okay I'll have it with milk.  I was also given 3 little cakes individually wrapped.

By 0840 hrs I am away.... And my leg hurts already.  This I knew would happen as it hurt when I went for a 2 am pee break.
First I have to retrace my steps to where I left the Camino yesterday.
Okay now to get outa town....
It was about 0850 hrs and I passed a woman who said Buenos Dias, Buen Camino!

Finally on some softer ground.  Through several parks with people out for walks.
This was fun.
I filled up my water bag.. Camel pak.  I did not really feel good about the hotel.  The backpack I have has a sleeve to put the bag in and a way to bring the hose out. It works great, but you never know how much you still have.  I have been filling a litre each day and almost emptying it.  Today as the sun shines on me already and my feet hurt ... I put 1 1/2 liters.
Through a neighbourhood then out of town...
For a very long and very painful asphalt walk on a highway shoulder.
Too long.
Finally back to a park.

I think I passed the same group of trail maintenance workers twice.  My foot was killing me and I really had to go to the bathroom.  And finally I decided I was going to have to find a tree.  Done and then I drank more water and for a few minutes my foot did not hurt so bad.
I figured out that if I engage my toes more when I walk it did not hurt as much.   When one walks on soil, it is more uneven and your whole foot works. On pavement the foot is more lazy ... This is what I have decided and this theory worked fine for awhile.

More trails..

Well thanks
At 1130 I finally find the restaurant and I stop for lunch.  I decide since this is not a fun day that I will be nice to my stomach.
I spend a whopping 12,9 Eur. ....  Ham cheese sanwich on baguette, coke zero, a really good condensed apple cake and a large black coffee.  I change my socks, use the bathroom and I am away.

-- okay so telling you what I eat and when I go to the bathroom is part of this journey.  For these simple things are very important things and they consume you when you are walking.
I thought this was an interesting tree...
Now even more not fun stuff.... It was a  very long walk through an industrial park mostly on pavement, but some grass.
Want to buy a Citroen ... Why are they all white..?

Look in between the modern street... There is an old bridge.  And this was a fine place for another rest and another sock switch.
Finally into Porrino proper not just it's industrial area. But still the Camino is down a busy newer street.
I want to be walking back there near the rail line .... The view down an empty lot.
Finally into the old part of town.

I promise not to go 40!

If this was summer ... Other pilgrams would be passing me left and right.
This is a good time to do the Camino.
I have never seen a purple basketball court before.
Not a good picture... But there are sheep in there .. It's true.
Okay this is good, I have changed my socks again ... But I almost done ... It's 1500 hrs.
They are real... I saw them move.
This was nice... All in Spanish... Something about Mary....
Thought this tree was interesting ...
I am in Mos now.  My original plan was to go all the way to Redondela .. About 31 km.
I knew that was not going to work, so plan B today was to stop at the albergue here in Mos about 21 km.
I arrived at 1600 hrs and paid my 6 Eur at Flora's across the street and they let me in. There was one fella from Madrid already there.
Rest, shower and then across for food.  Santos and I had dinner together.  He was from Madrid so of course he speaks Spanish which helps.
Soup, sausage, eggs, chips, bread, a glass of wine, coffee.... Dessert apple or banana.  I said apple expecting .., a piece of pie or something...
It was fine. Dinner 10 Eur.

It appeared that Santos and the two male staff at Flora's had black sweaters on. Flora came out to say hola ... Guess it was girl boy thing...
They are almost the same colour blue!

Well I bought aloe cream for the bottom of my feet yesterday. Fernada used it when giving me the food massage days ago. And today I bought some anti inflammatory cream for my leg. Same type like the albergue in Pont de Lima had lent me days ago.  Time to put some more on and find my sleeping bag.  ... It 2030 ... That's almost bed time!
