Finding my way

I updated things before dinner last night. This was a mistake for dinner was an event, Raclette!
One heats the Raclette cheese on a little tray under the heat and then grills meat and vegetables on top, placing everything on top of potatoes, with a dash of cayenne pepper....
Well that is what we did but normally raclette has no grill.  And a proper Raclette does not have small trays, rather a half cheese goes under an element, where the 'racleur' skims off the melted top layer for each person seperately.
Okay I did not take a good picture of the Raclette thingie... It's in the middle above.
You have to work for each serving, but well worth it and fun.  Accompanied by a very nice red wine, maybe white would be best paired, but I prefer red!

It was a grand send off meal!!

This morning, Monday the world of my hosts returns to normal, back to school and back to work.  I leave on the tram with my sister in law, but get off earlier than she does.

And now it is noon 2013-11-04.
I take a coffee and a quiche in the old city of Geneva.  It is raining, but not too bad.

I am on my own now, a pilgrim.  I carry all my belongings on my back, not much more than a change of clothes.  As I meander through the old streets I spot the soon to become familiar yellow shell.
I could start my Camino here in Geneva.  ....It would be much longer and of course it would connect with the Camino Frances.  I am doing the Caminho Portuguese!

I head towards Cathedrale Saint Pierre.

Eh voila...

I tell the attendant I am a pilgrim and ask if I am able to receive a credential,
(a passport of sorts that I have stamped along the way to validate my pilgrimage).

At first he does not understand, but then explains that he could provide me a sello (stamp) but I must find the book at the Catholic Church.  It is far away, so I will stick with the plan to get one in Porto.
I look around the first of many cathedrals and then head up the two towers..

Nice views from the top...

.... I like strong coffee.  I like to drink it in larger quantities than is served in this part of the world, though. Hmm...
I take my time at coffee and wandering as it is Monday and the museums are closed.  So I try fresh roasted chestnuts from the street vendor, then I locate a city library for washroom and weefee, (wifi).

Next stop airport and then Porto
(By the way I have no idea why the font keeps changing...)
