Warm feet- wifi issues

Porto to Matoshinhos
I think it was about 14 km...

This was not really part of the Caminho, as most people head north right off on foot, or take metro to Matoshinhos.

But I decided to head to the Cathedral, down to the Rio Douro, out to the ocean and north to Matoshinhos.

I left about 0940 hrs, readjusted the pack at the Cathedral at about 1000 hrs.

Here is the bridge I did not cross today.
Yesterday I crossed on the bottom part, but there is a road up high as well.

I turned right and kept the water on my left all day.  Goodbye Porto....
It was overcast again. No rain to start, it started to get misty, but it was still warm.
Under this bridge...
At about 45 minutes from Cathedral a cyclist went by me, turned back and asked, 'Santiago?', I nodded and he said 'Buen Camino'.  About 10 mins later another man offered the same. :-)
Eventually the ocean was in site

I stopped for lunch at about 1145 hrs and decided I need to keep my Portuguese -English dictionary close by.
Eventually the port at Matoshinhos was in view as well as many ships heading to port.
The tug coming out to escort the ship in.
Went for a look see up here... A 'commando museum' of sorts...
When I looked over the cannons towards the beach... There were surfers everywhere.
And then on to the beach ... Must be nice here in the summer...
I walked a bit too far and doubled back.
The metro runs on this street.
And finally...
Reached here by 1430 hrs. Shower changed and rested for awhile.

I wandered a bit, watched a soccer match in a coffee shop 1-1 Porto -Zenit.
Then I walked in circles looking for a good restaurant. I ended up having a steak and chips, red wine (just a glass!),
Coffee and some lemon gelato.... A good birthday dinner me thinks.

Back to the hotel and I had wifi problems...not solved until this morning.

Notes
- body felt fine ... feet and back.
Feet were warm-but no sore spots.
