Last night in Albergue

It is only fitting that as the Camino winds down I have figured out a faster way to upload things- albeit it does depend on wifi speeds....

I am in a cafe with my second cafe Americano.  As I said before that is a black strong coffee .. Basically a double espresso.  It comes in a cute little cup with two sugars and a spoon the size that someone's grandmother collects.

That reminds me I have yet to try a grandmother cake.  It's a dessert I saw on the menu in Pondeverde and somewhere else.

Anyhow a Spaniah soap opera is on the TV as I write.  It is almost 1700 hrs and I am in Teo.  This is my last stop before Santiago de Compostela.  Before the end of the Camino .... :(

I will be on the road for a further week should you wish to continue checking in... Who ever you are!  :)

So yesterday I mentioned getting to the Albergue about 1530 hrs or so.  The woman asked me if I wanted to sleep upstairs near the front door or toward the back.  I asked where the bathrooms were and she showed me on the main floor. So I chose the back area.

This was a small room with two bunk beds and a private washroom! .... You know for the sick and/ or disabled.

I wandered away to order a huge pizza and update the blog with the cafe's wifi.

Upon my return I heard some noise and headed up to the main dorm to meet the German women! .... Anna and Karina or something really close to that!!

We recounted what a great and similar day we had had.  They too had stopped for coffee at the nice place I did, and stopped in at the school to meet the kids, they had even stopped at the store/ restaurant where the not so happy woman worked.  And they had passed the unfriendly people on the trail. AND Karina likes to take pictures of sheep as well.  So there!

Another guy arrived, a French man.  He was cold and went around and turned all the heaters on.  He was not too talkative.

I returned to my private quarters for the night.  BUT I was wakened at about 0530 hrs to a commotion from upstairs.  Hmm...

I was up at about 0815 hrs and out by 0900 hrs. Turns out there was a mouse visiting upstairs!!

This the view from the church level
And the church...
I headed down to the cafe for morning coffee and check my email.  Anna and Karina joined me and we stayed to about 1000 hrs.
... Back across the bridge. The girls headed off for water and I was on my way.

This was an interesting wall for aeration...
Today there was much highway hopping...
I am amazed at all the flowers as well.

This looks very Swiss..
And away from Iria Flavia
Looks like a nice place, right?  But location location location.... That's the communter train (maybe freight too) in front and the busy highway right behind.

This was once a really cool town...
This is a good use of land... The triangle of property next to highway and road.

Stopped in to use a bano and decided to have another cuppa... not beer.  Yesterday we passed near San Miguel.  I am not sure if it's the same town as where the beer comes from.....
I like this... I think that's me..
Peregrino ... Peregrina
This where I stopped.
What was cool in this place and much in Spain.... lots of lights on motion sensors in hotels, restaurants, bathrooms... everywhere.  Good idea.
Then Anna and Karina caught up.  Then I passed, then they passed and then were gone.  They will go on to Santiago today.
Chow... Buen Camino!
So the route used to be where the highways is .... But look they created a nicer way.
....  By sheep!
And dogs...
And chickens!
These guys and girls came over to me when I walked by.  I picked some grass from the other side and stuffed it through the fence. They gobbled it up. I did it another time and then left before I got in trouble from someone....
It's an evil sky today... The pack cover is on.... But look behind the wires...
This cat had a sore leg too. Mine is doing pretty good today.
And in case you were not sure what I was looking at....

And complete... Except my yellow brick road does not lead through it...
It leads here....
A new sub division... Underground parking in each as well.
I think it's a big pineapple!
Goats.
Ever onward.  I am walking faster than old men today (with the sore leg), but my usual slow wander.... It's okay it's a short day..
Check out the corn... Best get it in the hopper before the mice get it!
Sheepies....
Breakfast.

Here is where I am...
That is the bread man driving away. We passed each other a few times.
I am going the other way where he just came from...
Even the works department is excited about the Camino! It's a manhole cover.

Okay the sky looks evil... the rain gear is on... And none too soon for a short shower.
By the train tracks again.
And this was once a thriving street... Before a highway ran through it.
Wood sort.
Was hoping for lunch near here.. The restaurant was not open.

Okay so the sky does not look so bad. Optimistically I take off my rain gear.
Then I make a few turns and realize which direction I am really headed!!
Gear on in time again!
So I am walking through another cute little village of sorts. This way, then that way....
Then I see a car and think its driveway, so head onward and then hey where is my arrow? ... then I hear ..'Peregrine!' And this woman catches up to me to show me the correct way.. Beside the car in the middle of the path.
Her dog did not like me.

This dog hide when I stopped to take a picture and then came out to yell at me as I left.

More highway crossing... Lunch first.
This was cute.  In the the running world penguins are slow runners ... I am a slow walker ...
Leaving another town...
And some highway shoulder walking for a bit.
Then off on a side road through another ghost town.
I am in Teo!

The Camino goes left. I go right to the albergue.
At about 1415 hrs there it is ... Open heated and no one there.  Sign says they will stamp my credential between 1700 hrs and 2200 hrs.  I drop my bag near a chosen bed, charge up the phone, rest and then head out to the cafe. ... From the signs on the wall showing me where the good food and wifi are located.
And so it's time for dinner. ...
Well it's early, but I want to head back shower and rest up. Maybe someone will stop here tonight or not ....
