At rock bottom

Well I wasn't around the site during the day... Just a quick stop about midday to pick up my mail. The crew were installing the pull across screen doors. 

By time I came by at the end of the day I was most disappointed. Not in their installation- but with the product. My neighbours have a much better model. The cats would be out the door in a minute with this flimsy model.

So now I am being a picky builder and the crew will uninstall them tomorrow and I will check out the other building store to find the better brand! No pictures.

Inside the house I can see that the front area of the bathroom has been grouted. The shower floor is in, but like the rest of the bathroom it is not grouted yet.

My contractor was out of town picking up my countertop as well as a few things from that other home building store not in my town. Double towel rack, clothes hook and a toilet roll holder for the bathroom. And shelf brackets for the front room.

Here is the toilet alcove with the trim in place.The plumber is due back on Thursday.

My ungrouted shower floor. Hope the thinset sticks well to these rocks. Will be interesting to see what it looks like with the grout. 

And so the electrician was supposed to be by today.... But he was a no show.

Which means I spent too long at the coffee shop again tonight.... At least I found a friend.

My back fence neighbour was in town to pick a few pears. I informed him that Mr. Bear had been by to eat most of them already. I was drinking coffee at dusk as you can see, so I was unable to watch for Mr. Bear tonight. Hopefully he stayed out of my yard!
