What's important here...

Well lots got done today.. Which is good because I am moving in real soon!

After much comparison with the neighbours' screen doors... The ones installed came off. Not sure if I can get any money back for them because I think they were cut down to fit... We will see.
I have ordered two better ones - for more money. They will get installed in the next few days.

One little item about the doors is that door stops were needed so the nice trim did not get wrecked.
Here is what we did to the front door....Top and bottom.
A closer look... Love that window.
Now I meant to show you the 'back door' door stop but here is the picture I took! Ha!
It's a regular wall mounted white door stop... Trust me.

While we are in the back, here is the attic hatch in place.
Trim was put in place to make the barn doors a bit more private. We still need the bottom tracks.
This is the bedroom door.
And this is the den door.... Colours hmm.....
This is the reachable hole in the wall access cover... So if need be I can turn off water and/ or unplug the washer or dryer.
Still in the closet... Here is the kitchen fan venting not quite finished yet. I think I saw that elbow in the basement...

The bathroom is coming together. The floor needs a wipe from the grout mess still. I am not sure my litter box in the cabinet plan will work. The plumber has to make things slim so the cats have room to pass through the first cabinet to the second.
And I did not think it through well enough and was not there when they made the cuts, so I will have some alterations to the plan....stay tuned.
I think this is a fun floor.
Here is the front of the washer/dryer cubby with the hole in the wall. The trick will be to get the washer and dryer in place and then to connect the dryer vent.
The washer and dryer have gone the way of the tub...sitting in the front room.
The ceiling fans are in. No picture, but the one in bedroom is all white. This one has black blades with a light colour wood on the flip side. Black is the colour to match in my house!
Not sure about the apparent dent in the fridge. The plastic film is still on and part of that mark is the transition where the plastic strip is... It's not a high end fridge. A Danby 9.2L with the bottom freezer.
A picture does do the countertop colour justice.... It's sorta a cream. Really looks nice with the floor.
As I have said I will wait to pick the wall colour, I will also wait to pick the backsplash colour. Something bright.
Next tricky part after the bathroom cabinets will be installing the strong shelf that will sit above the TV that will be mounted on the wall ... Thanks to nice friends who bought the wall mount gadget for me! And a chase in the wall to hide the wires from back of TV to shelf.
My great scrap Kerdi board measuring system is... Bottom tape is the table top, then bottom of TV, then top of TV and the shelf will sit sorta where the cable is at.
Speaking of cable......
One cable company came by today. They did not quite like the way the cable comes in through the plastic roof mounts. My contractor and the supervisor finally figured out where the cable will run and how it will attach to the house.  The wire has not yet been pulled to the house, just to my hydro pole.

Now all that said... The other company is coming out on Thursday. Company number two has been waffling on being able to get things up and running, which is why I ended up calling the other guys.
I think it will be fine to run both to the house and that way I can easily switch if I so desire.

I will have a small movable island because the washer and dryer will not be there forever.
The building inspector made us put different hand rails in place on one side. Might have looked better to mount down on the side where one would expect a hand railing to be.. But that would have meant brackets....
We dug out the basement wall to get a ground wire to the cable box... And to finish the wiring.
Well I guess I should not say finish- but to continue on with the wiring.
The space age high efficiency electric water heater has arrived. It's a Rheem
And a rare glimpse of the apples under a sheet in the cold room. There is a door knob now to close the door.

And lookie here.....
Once again it would have been nice to have been here for the complete installation. I do not believe the conduit from the grey box should be so long to the fancy picture oval. And I would have mounted the holster on the other side..... Hmmm not sure we can move the big stuff, but the holster can probably get moved.
I think it would work up high still, but on the other side, over the grey box. When all the cable is coiled it looks too messy to have it go off to the side to get yo the holster. Moving in to the other side works with the cable better and keeps it more contained - sorta.

But hey, what is important is that I plugged my car in at my home!
So now when I win the lottery.... Solar panels!

Mr. Bear has been by for hazelnuts...
It appears that he is eating someone's corn as well!
